Creating a report from a list view that has Infor filters, but those filters are not a part of the c

Someone had helped me at one time on how to take a screen like (ProjectAccountantGLTransactionDetialList) and turn it into a report where you could filter on the columns that have been personalized. Currently, this screen can only be filtered by the provided Infor filters.

I have tried to create a report but it still only allows the filters that Infor provides and not ones that have been personalized. Can someone help and/or post steps to accomplish this please?

Hi Laura,

It appears you are referring to a list with a Search Form. When adding fields to a list with a search form you would need to do 1 or 2 things:

1) Configure the Search Form to include the field you have added to the list so that it can be searched or filtered on.

2) Copy the list and create a configured list without a search form. This will create an "In Line Search List" that will allow you to search or filter or any field in the list.

***Please note that Derived Fields cannot be used in an "In Line Search" and will not allow you to enter a filter value.

Thank you John for the reply - I didn't realize that we could configure the search form. That is good to know.

I thought I knew how, but have been unsuccessful in trying to do step 2. Would you be able to provide the steps involved in creating an "In Line Search List", please?

While there is an action in Configuration Console to convert a report to an inline search list that function does not appear to be working correctly for me. Please follow the instructions below as I know this method will accomplish what you are looking for.

Please follow the steps below to Create a Report and Remove the Search Form:

Navigate to the ProjectAccountantGLTransactionDetailList and select Options > Create Report
Assign the report a name “Laura Project GL Detail List Search” and determine if you would sharing if any you would like to permit.
Navigate to the Configuration Console Role.
From the menu select Report > Console and select the report you created in Step 2.
Click the Update Report button on the record and the Report options menu will display.
Select the Edit LPL tab and then click the grey Edit
The LPL Edit will display. If you enter 2 slashes "//" in front of the lines that read (My apologies it will not allow me to attach a screen shot): //search form is ProjectAccountantGLTransactionDetailSearchForm //use as filter
Click the Submit button to save the changes.
Navigate to My Reports and select the report created in Step 2. The report should now display as a simple list without a search form that will allow you to filter on any column.

* ** I do recommend enabling the Passive Search function with inline search forms as it will prevent the system from attempting to search each time you change a value in the column filter field. This allows you to set all of the search parameters and then hit “Enter” to initiate the search instead of the system trying to search each time you change a value in the column header. To enable Passive search navigate to Settings and change the default from Active to Passive Search.

This is very helpful. Unfortunately, Configuration Console is a very restricted role in our company, but I can work with them to make the changes. As you mentioned above, I also saw that when you have checked the report, clicked on the Ellipse you have the option to Convert To Inline Search Form - unfortunately when I select that, there is no icon to open filters in line. There is also a Reset LPL which resets back the infor provided filtered fields at the top of the report.

I appreciate the recommendation for a Passive Search, we have been frustrated with the search starting as soon as a filter is changed.
