3D Printing
Legacy Contributor
Anyone doing 3D printing? Ie, using 3D printers to either prototype or create finished product? I'd like to do a roundtable on how VISUAL customers are using them and if we need to extend VISUAL to help facilitate 3D printing.
If you'd like to participate in a roundtable, email me at danna.nelson@infor.com.
And/or just reply here if you don't want to participate but just want to let me know what you are doing with 3D printing.

Danna,
We regularly print 3D drawings from SolidWorks for parts going to the floor on WO travellers. I print them on the back of the WO Traveller Page 1: the floor guys really like this, and it saves paper.

Thanks, Tom! I realized I need to clarify what I'm asking. I'm talking about 3D printing meaning creating actual "things" with a machine that "prints out" a part or other physical thing.

Got it. Like this

No, we do not use this method for prototyping at this time. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

3D printing/mfg is on our radar but we have not made any effort to get there. I am interested in being in this loop. The machines are relatively inexpensive but I haven't found any pricing on the powders used. My guess is that's the core opportunity.

Thanks, Tom. Todd, I will keep you in the loop. I know there are VISUAL customers out there doing this, I just need to get them in a group.
