Allocation Control Setup - Actuals

Hi All - Couple questions I'm hoping some other customers could weigh-in on:

1. Are you using Batch Run of Allocation lines?  If so, what is the benefit?
2. How many Max Active Actions do you allow in your Allocations queue?
3. Do you process allocations on an automated schedule or do users run them?
4. Do you process allocations only at certain times due to the heavy Async traffic it creates?
5. Is there a way to require the allocations to process each period?
6. Any other tips?

Hi Stace,

1. We do not use Batch Run currently. 

2. We have 1 Max Action and I find that the real issue for us is not the allocation piece but more the refresh that kicks off on the Analytic Cube.

3. Our users run allocations each month.

4. We run our allocations monthly and often different companies run them at the same which can cause a traffic jam of sorts. I call the async issue a one way road. I monitor that queue for allocation issues because I find that an allocation error on one allocation will stop all other allocation traffic. 

5. I don't know the answer to this.

6. It can be a lot to get allocations setup properly in the system currently. We have everything from simple move from account A to move to account B up to percentage calcs based on weighted factors. I found that creating dimension structures was helpful when we want the allocation to run through all possible finance dimension combinations. It is too many to go through them all so I built it out to limit it to each company.
