Good Day!
As we see it…
- If I look at MMS002 Panel H (On-Hand Information) for a particular Item perhaps I see that in the “Qty on order” field I see that we have 15,000 on order.
- Also if I look at the “On-hand inspect field” on MMS002 Panel H it may say there is 15,000 in an inspection status
Many times when reporting to various groups in the company, our purchasing teams have been looking at the “Qty on order” in MMS002 and ADDING them to the “On-hand inspect field” to get a sense of what our inventory position. They may say “oh, I have 1500 in inspection and another 1500 on order…I’m good.”
However, if I head over to PPS200 and look for any POs for that Item, I can see that I may have only have one PO, and it is in a Status 50 “Goods Received”.
They haven’t realized that the 1500 “On-hand inspect field” is the same 1500 “Qty on order”.
Questions:
- What PPS200 Status “clears” the “On-Order” statistics; whereas something is no longer “Ordered”?
- What are some examples / steps of how your organization is doing the receiving / inspection process as to avoid this double counting?
Thanks,
Steve
