Good Morning,
We’ve got a new situation for us.
Up until now we’ve only had one Warehouse (in the US) supporting our Distribution operation.
But for a myriad of logistical reasons (some good, some bad) we are also going to distribute one of our product lines out of a second Warehouse in Europe.
Ultimately that means we will have the same material in both places.
From an Order Entry perspective (which only happens at one location) how do I ensure that when an Order is entered that the Order Lines get created with the right / best warehouse attached?
To say it more specifically:
- Same product in two warehouse. What can allow M3 to create the order line in the “best” warehouse for that customer?
- Further, if / when the product becomes exhausted in the US warehouse, what can allow M3 to create the order line in the warehouse where there is material, despite it not being the customer’s “normal” warehouse?
- For a particular Order, 99% of the items come from Warehouse A, but these few Items come from Warehouse B.
Note:
One of the suggestions may be that during Order Entry the Sales Person needs to look at the warehouse positions and decide, but we are looking for some more “automated” suggestions:
- We have to be able to support EDI, Ecommerce, and other Batch Orders.
- We have lots of product lines / items, and at this time can’t be dependent on the Sales Persons to make that determination.
Thanks!
Steve
