Locking down of the C:drive

Hi all,

Just wondering if somebody could help us get a better understanding.

We have two customer sites whereby reports layouts are either getting corrupted or deleted and we are regularly having to restore the frt and frx back from a backup.
The one commonality between the sites is that they lock down the C:drive - so if you try through windows explorer to get to the c:programdatapegasus folder it comes up with "Not Accessible" The usual folders c:programfilesx86pegasus and c:programdatapegasus have full read/write permissions for users and is excluded from the AV's so am I barking up the wrong tree in thinking that due to c:drive being "not accessible" when the Opera3 client is trying to communicate back to the server something is getting dropped/lost?

With access permission problems it tends to either work or not work, not fail intermittently. I would still be suspecting the antivirus to be honest.

And did I recall Alan that you had seen problems with Indexing doing random locking as well?

Indexing, continuous backup software, anything like that.

Many thanks Alan for advice - we've no IT control at all on the sites so we can only just advise and point them in the right direction. I think also they've never deleted the contents of the TEMP folder so potentially the folder has just got too much in it but i'll certainly mention the indexing and backup software to see if those could be a factor :-)
