Committing backordered quantities SOBOMS

Has anyone come up with an automated way to commit backordered quantities that exist in SOBOMS so that the finished item on the order can be committed? We have a customer that builds kits on the fly and they end up backordering them because of insufficient availability. When they get received the Commit Backordered Quantities program does not handle them so they just sit. I know we could write the routine to handle them but wanted to see if anyone else had done the same.

We have modified the Commit Backordered Quantities Report to allow it to commit BOM components and finished items on sales orders. Contact me via email if you would like to see what we did.
