Performance issues opening forms and logging on

Does anyone have any technical information what happens when Opera forms are loaded?

Details:

Both client and server issues with performance. Not as bad directly on the server, though.

This issue has affected all users for a number of years, but recently has become more apparent.

It is specifically anything involving opening forms like processing forms etc. Posting transactions and searching appear fine.

Particularly bad opening SOP Processing form, but then Add a new SO and then open the details form for instance is extremely slow. Not responding message and the circle etc.

But equally as bad logging onto Opera. Getting to the logon screen is fine but after that can take 30 seconds to then fully load Opera. (The info splash screen is disabled).

Server spec:
- 2016 Server Standard
- 26gb RAM
- 10 virtual processors

- Windows indexing only set to the internet on the server
- server is re-booted weekly

- server is running at 30% mem

TESTED:
- uninstalled AV and antimalware - same
- turned off IT monitoring software - same
- client MEM running at 50% now - same
- logged onto PC as alt user - same
- logged into Opera as ADMIN - same
- changed ADMIN preferences to load Z - same (so not data related)

How long does it take to do a "Refresh Data" on a form like SOP Processing

We have had similar problems on a couple of sites, but intermittent, generally. It turned out to be the network switches.

A couple of note

The problem was only affecting a couple of machines. The machine on the next desk was fine and if the network cables were swapped the problem moved machines. The customer was convinced it was the cabling in the wall until we did the same swap, but on the switch ports. Juniper switches from memory and old firmware with an odd memory leak.
A customer with a very large data set and lots of bespoke. Testing some bespoke which took just over an hour on our systems, but they gave up after 30 hours. After many things, we were investigating the HyperV virtual switch config. The customer wasn't forthcoming about what they found, but the problem went away.

I ran a test by copying a 600mg opera backup zip to a client desktop which took about 5 seconds.

Following your reply, their IT carried out an official test from and to a client, as below:

The speed looks good from both ends, I ran a speed test from SERVER to Client C drive and then a speed test in return from Client machine to a network share on SERVER. I did this with 2Gb of data to be sure, prior to this I tested with 1GB and it was a similar result.

Server to client writing 533 mbps reading 707 mpbs

Client to server writing 471 mbps reading 756 mpbs
