HIPAA 834

I am curious to know what everyone is using to create these files to send to the different companies. For example - Blue Cross , Delta Dental, AETNA, VSP, MEDIMPACT just to name a few. Did you create your own process? Were you able to use the 'out of the box' version from GHR to create the files exactly how the vendor needed to receive the file?

We had to customize the delivered IPA flow BenefitsHIPAA834. I think Infor is moving this process to FCU in the future.

We created separate IPA flows for Delta Dental, EyeMed, UMR, and Kaiser. The first step in the flow is to initiate the Infor 834Create so that it generates the raw file and stores it in pfiFileStorage. Once the flow makes sure that the file is finished it then grabs it from pfiFileStorage and cycles through the records to perform the formatting. We use javascript in an Assign node to do any formatting. The resulting file from the formatting is FTP'd to the vendor from within the flow. Another option would be to manipulate the delivered IPA flow that is called on an 834 HIPAA create, but because each vendor has different requirements, we opted to massage the files after the Infor Create using different flows. I'd be happy to provide the IPD files from our custom flows if there is a way to send them to you.
