Work unit purging

Would anyone like to share their standards for work unit purging?
I have asked Infor for best practices on this and they were not able to provide any assistance stating that, essentially, it's up to us. We have never purged any work units in FSM or GHR and in one of our largest tables have over 27million rows (pfiWorkunitVariable).
We do not use our work units for reporting. They have simply never been deleted because no guidance has ever been given to us to delete them. As far as I am aware we are not suffering any performance issues.
How long does your organization keep work units before purging? 180days? 10days? 1yr?

I usually purge the GHR work units annually mostly because the majority of the work units are attached to action requests and I never know when HR may need to look at those. If they weren't attached and you could delete the work unit without deleting the Action I would do it more frequently.

We wrote a flow a couple years ago. It has a couple different sections to it. We have it schedule to run on Sunday mornings.

It will Delete work units that don’t have a User Action: filterString=StartDate <= <!CCYYMMDD45DAYS> and (Status = 4 or Status = 8) and IsNonUAWorkUnit = true and NoActionRequest = true
Moves to work unit history: _filterString=StartDate <=<!CCYYMMDD12MON> and (Status = 8 or Status = 4) and Archived =false
Clears Logs and Activites: _actionName="ScheduleLogsAndActivitiesDeletion" with BeginDate="<!CCYYMMDD70DAYS>" & ClearLogs="1" & DeleteActivityAndVars="1" & DeleteWorkunitVars="1" & EndDate="<!CCYYMMDD60DAYS>"

We added a section to also cleanup FileStorage:

_filterString=LastUpdatedTimestamp < <!CCYYMMDD45DAYS> and we have a file we always want to keep in File Storage it’s data that has to be appended to a file we send to one of our vendors, so we skip specfic file names.

We actually put the number of days in a configuration variable so we can easily change the values and they can be different between FSM and GHR.

FSM:

Keep Days: 45

Purge Log Days: 60

Archive Months: 12

GHR:

Keep Days: 45

Purge Log Days: 180

Archive Months: 12
