What fields in FSM are you using to send item cost to your EHR?

Hello,

We currently use FSM and EPIC. We interface an HL7 message from FSM to EPIC with the item cost. I am wondering which fields in FSM you use to send item cost to EPIC (or similar)?

We currently send:

AverageCost
If Avg Cost is $0.00 then LastReceiptCost
If LastReceiptCost is $0.00 then DefaultUnitCostForLowestDivisibleCost

I haven't received real clear answers from Infor on how specifically those field populate either.

Any information you could provide would be much appreciated! Thank you!

Hey Tanner - We use the BaseCostForLowestDivisibleCost from our lowest priced contract line that is not expired and not on hold. If a contract line does not exist meeting those conditions we use last receipt cost. This gives us more accurate information, over using a last receipt cost or average cost. Some of those cost records can be years old. Whereas a contract record for an item we are working on keeping current.

Hi Tanner - we are sending to EPIC the itemlocation.DefaultUnitCost and the default buy UOM conversion factor and letting the EPIC interface calculate down to the lowest EA cost for contracted items. For items not on contract, we re sending the last price paid from an extract that we are capturing daily and merging into our EPIC daily file.
