Remove ability to change UOM in RQC

Does anyone know of a configuration change or something that would restrict the requester from being able to change the UOM no matter what? ie: grey out that field in item detail instead of allowing them to select from the drop down?

Anything custom anyone has done if nothing is delivered?

You can removed the Transaction UOM flag in IC11 from the UOM's you don't want people requesting in. That's the simplest thing.

No, we can't. The UOM that we don't want them to pick is the stock UOM. We need that to be down to the eaches because of the price and Epic, but we don't ever want the requester to request less than a box. We put BX on their template, and only allow them to use the template, but they always have the option to change to EA. We want to prevent that.

There is a section in the rqc_config.xml file for setting Display Only Fields.

We have tried changing the field in the config file, but then that messes up specials. Specials require you to select a UOM, and if you change it in the config file to read only then they can't put a UOM in for specials...Unfortunately, we have just had to trust the requester to not do that (we haven't even shown them that they can). If they figure it out we ask them not to.

The requester has to go a certain length to change the UOM from what you have on the template. We find that most just accept the template UOM. For the ones that do change it we just slap their hand tell them not to do that anymore. But if you only allow your requesters template ordering in RQC then making the UOM a display only field in the config file should work.

We just had this problem come up with diapers. We need to have them as EA for our Pyxis and Cerner Surginet sites. Requester ordered 1 each when she wanted 1 pack. I was curious to see if there was a resolution other than education to the end user. Seems that is the only true solution.

If uom isn't the default buy uom and if the req loc isn't in the list of the pyxis and cerner surginet locations - unrelease the requistion and email the requester?
