My Print Files - View

Has anyone been able to attach files from UserReport business class to EMAIL using IAP? I print requisitions through the IPA and trying to attach the print out to Email sent to the vendor, When you select the report from My Print and click on View you can see the report, but I cannot find out where this PDF/Excel file is stored or how can it be retrieved?

Hi Hatem,

It is stored in the ReportDocument business class (linked to UserReport business class) and the actual report contents are stored in the associated ReportDocument LOB file which is S$RDOC. The View button is a Landmark hidden routine as we were trying to see how it worked as well but couldn't.

We have not tried to Email before but you can choose "Distribute to Group" on the UserReport record and choose a ReportDistributionGroup that has a ReportDistributionProfile with defined Email options in it.

You can explore using a Report Distribution Group here. There is some setup of the Report Distribution Group needed and then when you Print to PDF/CSV (or schedule them) you will choose to use your Report Distribution Group. If memory serves this does allow email of attachments to non-provisioned user emails. It was a long holiday break.

That will be perfect, I was under the impression that Distribution Groups limited to system users. I will find if I can create the group on the fly from IPA since the vendor will change per Requistion. Thank you so much .

Creating on the fly Report Distribution Group's per Req just doesn't sit right with me. I know there is a setting for ad-hoc distribution in Report Distribution Group setup but I'm not sure if it allows for a non-provisioned user or email however. I'll need to research that more.

Agree, that was my concern as well, that is why I was hoping i can get the file from the print view. I am not 100% sure, but I am almost sure distribution group is based on system users and not external entitles as well. I will explore the option of ad-hoc distribution report, but send the attachment to requester to reroute to vendor.
