PositionHealthComponent Business Class Functionality

We are wanting to identify specific health components that are required to be completed by employees holding specific positions. I have been able to add records to the PositionHealthComponent business class, but I'm not sure how that business class is used within GHR. Can anyone provide an explanation of how this business class is used through 'out of the box' functionality within GHR? Also, if anyone is using this business class, can you provide how you are using it?

Technically speaking:

PositionHealthComponent is "part of" a Position. It's relative key being OccupationalHealthComponent.

You can get to these via Employee using PositionComponentRel or AnyPositionComponentRel or via Positions themselves using the primary LRCPosition form which shows an "Occupational Health" panel:

Hi Mike,

We are upgrading to GHR and are interested in doing this for Fit Testing requirement that is specific to positions. Do you know if we setup the requirement using this business class if someone automatically is removed or put into the requirement based on transferring in and out of the position? Or do they need to manually remove them from the requirement?

In S3 we assign it to the working condition of the position and then pull all those in the position and compare to those that completed fit testing to see who is outstanding. This automatically removes or puts someone on the list based on the position they are in (and we look at all their position levels). We want to be able to keep this kind of automation on requirements in GHR.

hi there! we are not using health at this point, but can at least tell you that Working Conditions are available to be added to the job or position while it appears that health can only be assigned at the position level:

Hi thank you. We just weren't sure if leaving it here we could automate who is required to have the component via a custom group or if there was a way to pull from these 2 different business classes into one report like we do now. We are not sure how the everything works with the health module yet.

can't comment on the automating piece but I can tell you that you can absolutely pull reports from multiple business classes via Infor Spreadsheet Designer

Hi Sylvie,

You can definitely automatically assign a Health Component or Series by Position. You would identify the Positions you want tied to the Component/Series in the Occ Health module and set them up in Occupational Health > Health Assignment > By Position. You have the ability to tie both Series and/or Components to Positions that way. Operationally, any future employee that is hired into an affected Position is automatically assigned the Series or Component. There is, in addition, a separate assignment action that can be taken to apply the component to employees that are currently in the Position. When an employee leaves the Position, they are no longer tied to that process, unless they go to another Position to which components or series are tied. As long as they are in the Position and the requirement to renew comes up, the renewal process should make a new assignment available again (e.g. a yearly Fit Testing cycle, for example). Hi. Sorry I haven't been able to work on this for a while and just getting back to looking at it. What you described is exactly what I would like to do but have been unsuccessful. I loaded the positions to the component that are required to have it. And it did give me a message that only future individuals added to the position will get the requirement. I tried to assign the component by position, but it wants to select each position individually. Not sure what I am missing. Or is that the only way to initially assign them, individually? I don't see an option to select all positions attached to the component. I looked at the document site but haven't found anything yet.

And I know you mentioned once they leave that position, they are no longer tied to the process. Is that just for renewals? Or if they are already assigned the component, does it get deleted or closed out automatically?

Any additional information on this is greatly appreciated.

Hi. I was able to set up and when I hire someone into a position that requires the component it does automatically assign it to them. I transferred the employee to a position that is not tied to the component, but it still shows it as an assigned component for them. is there a job I need to run to remove them? I have looked around but cannot find anything.

Any assistance in direction is appreciated.
