Rounding Add On Charge

Hello - we are new to matching in Infor FSM and having an issue with matching invoices to items with over 2 decimal places. Do most FSM customers build a rounding AOC code that spreads to resolve this problem? If so, is there any disadvantage to using this code? Thank you

There is a rounding account on the Match Company

It is the Invoice Balance Rounding Tolerance tab

This allows the set up of tolerances and an account structure for the rounding difference

Hi, Sally. This is Judy Cole.

If you are referring to vendors whose invoice line totals just do not equal the invoice amount due to rounding the invoice line amounts differently than Infor does, you have the option to add a Match Company - Invoice Balance Rounding Tolerance. This allows the system to auto balance an invoice for you, within tolerance.

Invoice is for $100

Invoice line is Qty 1 @ $99.99

Without the Invoice Balance Rounding Tolerance, the invoice is out of balance. The user could add a misc distribution for a Penny to put the invoice into balance, or add a penny to the invoice line unit cost or use an AOC to account for the difference.

The system can use the Invoice Balance Rounding Tolerance to auto add a penny on Match. This saves AP a lot of work when the invoice line total is a penny off the invoice amount, and the invoice is many lines. Also is a great help when a penny isn't easy to put on the invoice lines as there are qty's like 100 or 1000.

Usually I see the Invoice Balance Rounding Tolerance to be a couple pennies. If you set the Invoice Balance Rounding Tolerance to 2 cents, it will apply negative or positive, up to 2 cents to balance the invoice for AP. They will never see an out of balance, and upon Match the system will create the balancing distribution to the Account on the setup.

It looks like we do have Invoice Balance Rounding Tolerance setup for 10 cents. I wonder if this is only a problem when they are manually matching the invoice. I assume this is system generated and wouldn't work if they were trying to manually match the invoice?

It will work online or auto match - no difference. Something else is wrong with the invoice. Please log an Incident for Support to review.
