Object Reference not set to an instance of an Object (Scheduler Server is unavailable or not respond

Hi All,

I am having an issue opening scheduler for the first time after a fresh install on a single user Client and Server installation.

When I try and open up Scheduler for the first time after the install I get "Object Reference not set to an instance of an Object" followed by "Scheduler Server is unavailable or not responding"

I have noticed in the C:ProgramDataPegasusScheduler Server folder that only Pegrel.txt and tasks.XML exist. In the past I have managed to get around this by coping the missing files from a working installation and this has got round the issue. But not this time.

- All the relevant file permissions are in place

- Correct Share Permissions

- I have disabled the Firewall

- There is no AV on the PC

- Scheduler Service is running

- 4.7.2 and 3.5 (inc 2.0) is installed

- Machine has been rebooted

Had anybody got an ideas of what I could try?

Hi Claire,

I have managed to resolve the issue. The Client target path in Regedit WOW6432NodePegasusScheduler was missing the Client Target.

I was under impression this was created once you had linked the SQL instance however that is not the case. So after manually adding in the key this resolved the issue.

Hi Jordan, are you getting as far as selecting the SQL Instance when trying to run the scheduler for the first time?
did you set the proper permissions in the SQL Login for the NT AUTHORITYSYSTEM?

Hi Claire, thanks for coming back to me,

I haven't gotten to the point of selecting a SQL instance for Scheduler the issue is with opening scheduler for the first time before selecting it. But I have already put in all the correct SQL permissions.

Hi Jordan

And you've doubled checked that you've set the Full Control permissions on 'everyone group' on both the Scheduler Static - C:Program Files (x86)PegasusScheduler Server AND Scheduler Dynamic C:ProgramDataPegasusScheduler Server.

I would uninstall the Pegasus Scheduler and completely delete ALL the scheduler folders

C:ProgramDataPegasusScheduler Server
C:Program Files (x86)PegasusScheduler
C:Program Files (x86)PegasusScheduler Server

Then do the reinstallation. I've found if I try to run the Scheduler and get any type of error, I've got to do clean uninstall/reinstall.
