Employee Language Preferences

Hi - we currently have GHR enabled for just English, but are exploring ways to capture employee language preferences. How are other customers using Infor-delivered functionality, or what have you built to supplement it? How are you capturing language preferences (ESS, HR updates, other) and proficiency (written/spoken designator, dropdown list of options, freeform)? Would love to hear what other healthcare customers are doing in this space.

Hi Heidi!

We are in the process of rolling self service out globally in several countries, so will be very interested in hearing feedback from others on this as well.  There are a bunch of languages that are supported out-of-the-box from Infor, so if people want to take advantage of that, they can do so via Mingle > User Settings > Localization settings: 

We've tried really hard to keep customization to a minimum, but if there are menus or custom fields that you've added or changed, those would come back in English only, but the rest would be in the language identified in these settings.  They then control everything under the Mingle umbrella.  I'm not sure if it's possible to ISD out those preferences (or get a report on them in other ways), if you needed to understand communication preferences more broadly?

If it's more about language competency, perhaps it would be enabling tracking via the competencies or skills section of the Talent Profile?
