First Name Exceeds Character Limit

Hi All,

We are on V10 of Lawson, and the character limit for first names is 15 characters. We have a new employee whose first name (per their social security card) is one character too long. We've submitted an enhancement request to add more characters to the first name field, but for now we have reporting going out to vendors and other entities which does not reflect the full legal name.

Has anyone bumped into this before, and how did you resolve the issue? Our Infor reps have not been able to provide any recommendations or solutions.

I am sure Infor is going to say to move to GHR and won't add to the field length. For a temporary workaround you could put the first name also in the Preferred Name field which is 30 characters instead of 15.
