Indirect Labor on Shop Floor Mobile

Good Morning All,

Is anyone out there using the Indirect Labor button in Shop Floor Mobile? We are trying to use it but I've noticed that using that button to start an indirect labor ticket doesn't close active direct labor jobs for that employee. I've been discussing this with Infor support who seems to think this is the way it was designed and that changes should be an enhancement request.

Maybe I don't understand how this is supposed to work.....

That is how it’s designed to work. What happens is that it prorates the indirect ticket with the job labor. While there are use cases for that methodology, it’s a bit of a drawback if you want an employee to stop a job while waiting for 1st piece inspection per op, or things like “tooling delay”.

Thanks for the response Tim. I'd love to hear a use case for staying clocked in to both direct jobs and indirect labor at the same time. I can't think of any. This functionality runs kind of in disagreement with normal use of indirect labor. For example when you clock out of a direct job, Shop Floor Mobile actually clocks you into indirect labor - then when you clock into a direct job again, you're automatically clocked out of the indirect labor job.

Are you sure it's prorating the time? I think I tested this and it looks like it's not prorating the time.
