Hide Pay Rate for executives

Hello. We're using the latest CloudSuite release. We are setting up custom HR Generalist roles, and want to hide the pay rate from certain groups. I set up a condition in WorkAssignment based on the JobFamily != 101, which we have set up for executive job assignments. When I attach that condition to anywhere we see the WorkAssignment Business Class, it doesn't hide the rate. Has anyone had success hiding fields in the Generalist area? It doesn't have to be Pay Rate, but something similar (e.g. SSN). Thanks.

Since you want only the payrates of executives Restricted (not the entrire record)

you dont have to put the rule in Business Class

Just have field level restrictions implemented . Please note you will have to make sure the

field rules are implemented all security classes where WorkAssignment business class is referenced

Hello there, i've hidden pay rate/ssn via using the (ActorOrgUnitExists) rule that comes delivered from the HRGeneralistActorOrgUnit_ST role. Are your execs in a different org unit? if so you could utilize that rule on the fields. You also may want to run a security report to verify there are not any other security classes granting access to those fields within the business class itself. By default when granted access to a business class the user will see all fields unless explicitly denied. Also not sure based off your post if you wrote the rule on the work assignment business class itself or the pay rate field within the business class, if the business class you should write it directly on the field. We can do this multiple ways and have done it

If executives are not separated and is recognizable via Job attributes Like Jobfamily or Jobclass or Customfields.the requirement is just hide them for certain groups of HR. you will also need identifier on the actor (This Can be derived from roles or custom fields in actor) and your WHERE clause should be comprehensive .

If you can give the detail requirement I can give give sample rule .

One of the customer I worked needed 4 levels of security (HR , EX , Pay and PII ). This resulted in 12 valid scenarios out of possible 16.

Hi Christopher. We are using ActorOrgUnit, but this is a role that needs access to every org unit, but not see exec pay within those org units. I chose not to give this particular role ActorOrgUnit.

The condition I have for WorkAssignment is:
AssignmentIsNotExecutive

The only restriction is the hide executive pay. All execs are in JobFamily 101. The condition I put in place for WorkAssignment is:

If you have written a security rule in a security class using the condition above, and it is not working, it is likely that there is another rule in another security class that is conflicting and providing more access to the record. To identify if there is a conflicting rule, run the Securable Object Access Details report (in Administration Console) for the user experiencing the issue, and then evaluate the report to look for conflicting rules on the business class where you have written the rule.
