Good morning - I'm new to the L&D Community. I'm hoping to solicit your vote for ER 99691 in a continuous effort to improve L&D for us all.
Description:
As in all organizations, there are times when an employee needs to re-take a Learning Development plan, as a refresher or for other reasons. In our case, sometimes there could be 30+ activities in one Development Plan. Currently, the only way for an employee to retake all the activities in a Development plan is to assign each activity to themselves, one at a time.
Infor's solution (from incident 17370990) is to re-version the Development Plan so that it can be re-assigned. But that is not an option for us, because every time a Development plan is re-versioned, an email goes out to employees who have that Development Plan assigned and outstanding, so we need to avoid doing that. Re-versioning also does not provide an accurate audit trail because we have to track each version and what was changed. We also can’t keep duplicate records. Considerations regarding audit/compliance /tracking were not considered in this design.
Workaround:
The only workaround is to have our associates find and assign themselves dozens of activities contained in a Development Plan if they need to retake it. Our eLearning team will have to send them a list of activities and they can select the topics needed from there. What makes this a terrible solution for a Learning and Development system is that this is a deterrent for retaking courses, which our eLearning team generally encourages associates to do if and when needed.
Proposed Solution:
Please vote so Infor will make the "Re-take on Demand" functionality available for Development Plans, not just for Activities, and add another date field for Re-take completion date.
