Frankly, when you've been using Visual for 21 years, you might have come across solutions that Infor/Visual might consider unhealthy. Are there any guidelines available to be aware of?
Hi Kim,
Great to see that you joined this site. There seem to be a lot of members in this group, but very few people asking questions, and even fewer answering questions.
I have been a member of this site for a few years. I found the following in the site's Terms of Use:
----------“Community” means a discussion board, forum, chat area, bulletin board, news group, email, blog or other service through which you can publish, transmit, upload, post, email, distribute or otherwise transfer Content. By accessing this site, you agree not to publish, transmit, upload, post, email, distribute or otherwise transfer through any Community Content that: (a) violates or infringes the rights of any persons, including, but not limited to, rights in copyrights, patents, trademarks, trade secrets or any other proprietary rights; or (b) is false, misleading, libelous, defamatory, harassing, obscene, pornographic, abusive or otherwise violates any law or regulation; or (c) constitutes unsolicited “junk mail”, “spam” or “chain letters”; or (d) which contain viruses, “worms”, “trojan horses” or any other harmful properties.
Community shall be used solely for noncommercial purposes. You shall not publish, transmit, upload, post, email, distribute or otherwise transfer any Content containing any solicitation of funds, advertising, promotion, solicitation for goods or services or any other commercial matter. In addition, you agree not to collect or store any personal data about any other users in the Community.----------
What is permitted here appears to be similar to what is permitted in the VMIUGLIST and VMIUG-TEC Google Groups. I do not see anything in the terms of service that would prohibit you from stating a Visual consultant's name, if that consultant was helpful for a particular Visual issue that someone is having, or mentioning a third party, non-Infor product that helped solve a problem (if you are not trying to simply advertise that product to the group for financial benefit).
