How to add a new role to the role selector

We have created a new very limited form in the Employee business class that we would have created a new security class and role for. We would like to have the new role available in the role selector when users assigned the new role are logged in. We haven't been able to find any documentation on how to accomplish this. Can anyone direct me to any documentation that might be available for this or any assistance on how to accomplish this?

I believe the roles you see in the role switcher correlate to Web Apps, and you can only configure existing Web Apps, not create new ones.

Yes this needs to be assigned in security, as an example, take a look at the delivered GHREmployeeWebAppAccess_ST security class assigned to the Employee_ST role

While you can't use Config Console to create a new Web Application (sadly), as Andy noted, assuming you can find one that you aren't using, and never will be, you can "hijack" it using Config Console, and repurpose it and reconfigure it to give it your own title, its own landing page, default side menus, etc. as though it were your own. There is a segment of the URL that still shows the original web app name, but nobody ordinarily sees that within the Ming.le or Portal since it is hidden in a frame.

At our organization we did that with several of the School Bookkeeper webapps in FSM (since we aren't a school, we will never use that module). There aren't as many webapps to begin with in HCM/GHR/HRT but you can likely find a few candidates.

You might consider just adding a Menu Item to the best appropriate existing "Role" as you call it (they are really WebApps). So, pick EmployeeSelfService, or ManagerSelfService, whatever is most appropriate given your current security situation and needs and add a Menu Item to you list/form.

Then using actual Roles and Role SecurityClasses hide/show that menu item appropriately:

I didn't catch why you are doing this or the real use-case to know for sure, but a new webapp, new roles seems heavy to get some users to one new form.
