Zebra TC52 Devices on Airwatch

I'm working with our IT department to enroll our TC52 devices on Airwatch. They want to know if there's a way to auto config the devices with our server information through either an XML file or some other way. When the devices are enrolled in Airwatch they will be reset to factory settings and reconfigured with the applications. If we can't get the server settings to auto-populate the end users will have to add it. Anyone have their devices on Airwatch?

We do. We have the mscmservers.json file on all the handhelds (pushed thru airwatch) that contains the server info. Name the profile whatever you want to name it. Sample below:

If you have a HH with the correct profile you can export the file then grab the json file so your IT does not have create one.

I don't see a file on the device that would contain the server profile.

Hi Jon,

That's a great first and last name you've got there!

Infor's recommendation for this would be to distribute the mscmserver.json file to all of your devices. You can enter the server information into the json file and MSCM will read it during the setup process. Airwatch should allow you to distribute it to all of your devices, so you would just need to export the file from a device, enter the correct server details and then distribute it back to the device fleet as necessary. You can always open a ticket with Infor Support if you have any issues with getting this process to work.

Where is the mscmserver.json file found on the device?

If you are on prem or single tenant you will find it on the root directory on the hand held. Multi tenant is different depending on what version of android you currently have. The details of this will be in the What’s New document for the June CU 2023.06 release.

I installed Total Commander on the device so I could access the root directory. There is no mscmserver.json file on the device.
