Unable to Authorise MTD

As you an see from the above screenshots, it gets so far but then won't let them click on the SignIn button. Click again and get a 'no-entry' symbol. You can see the address it's trying to access.

We have tried this on 2 of their machines and their server. Their server only has IE. Plus I have put their system on our test system but same results.

I've had Frank from Pegasus dialled on with my to the customer's site but same.

We have been through the Pegasus Edge to IE document (MTD VAT Centre Edge IE Mode.docx). We have gone through all the settings in Edge/IE and popups cookies etc but same. Tried other browsers, but same.

This is the 18month cycle re-authorisation. Before this it has been fine.

I have replaced their PegSheduler.mdf with mine, but same.

The customer has contacted HMRC. HMRC responded with:

Was advised by HMRC this due to 18 month soft permission expired .

Need :

Outside accounting system log in , remove pegasus ----which I did
Then log in to choose Pegasus software , authorise again -- which I am unable to do as the link is invalid , does not allow me to click the “log in”

Hmrc ask me to contact you to update the web link inside Pegasus in order to log in to authorise , please let me know when you are free , thanks

Not sure if this will help, but I had a very similar issue where I could enter the government gateway details and then nothing happened when I clicked on the button. The following resolved this issue.

1. Open the MTD VAT Centre in Opera and say Yes to authorise.
2. When the web page loads up do not click continue but right-click on the web page and select 'Properties'.
3. Copy and paste the 'Address (URL)'.
4. Open Internet Explorer and paste in the copied URL.
5. Click Continue, enter gateway details and sign in.
6. A popup will appear advising about internet redirection. Tick the box 'In the future, do not show this warning' and then click on Yes. It should sign in and the web page appears to enter the access code.
7. Close down Internet Explorer.
8. Go back to Opera, open the MTD VAT Centre (close and reopen if still open from step 1).
9. Click yes to authorise and follow the process through and it should now work.

NOTE: this must be done in Internet Explorer and not Chrome or anything else.

Hopefully it will still work.

Thanks Felicity, we've tried all of that but what we may be missing is 6. advising about internet redirection. On all the machines we have tried this has not appeared.

I will try these options again.

I had that on one machine I think I had accidently clicked on the wrong option. I think if my memory serves me right I ended up restoring IE back to factory defaults so that the message popped up again.

Just for information, if it is Edge on the server, then I have run through the Pegasus document on a client site successfully.. this is what my screen shot of the relevant Edge settings was:

If it is not Edge, then I think previous advice generally works...

I think this is the (above) screen (provided by Pegasus) we are hoping to get to, but I've not seen it... even after resetting Edge back to factory and deleting all the history and cookies etc.

Remember, we have tried to authorise MTD on 2 of their PCs plus their server (only IE on it) plus my local test system.

There must be a change in Brower security since they last Authorised. What's the difference with this customer.
