Opera 3 and Windows 8.1
Legacy Contributor
Is anybody else seeing a lot of problem with Opera 3 and Windows 8.1? Although it is listed as officially supported for the latest versions, we are seeing various problems such as intermittent "not responding" messages and the Opera 3 client refusing to install but just rolling back every time. We end up having to do a manual install i.e. copy the client files and then update the registry manually etc but it's a real pain.

One of the defects corrected in version 2.22.10 was "Client installation rolling back on Windows 8.1"

No, but we wouldn't have a vast number of Windows 8.1 systems out there yet, and I suspect we won't as people will go straight to Windows 10. The rollback thing was fixed recently IIRC.

Thanks guys. Useful input from all. Unfortunately it's getting hard to stop customers buying Windows 8 machines these days although many companies are jumping straight from 7 to 10 as Alan suggests. I can also add that someone else has emailed me directly (as he is having problems logging in here) and confirmed installing 2.22.10 resolved the rollback issue on a problematic site for him.
