LPL Compare

I seem to remember an LPL compare menu item that would allow us to compare the current LPL vs prior release(s) at the business class level, but I can't seem to find it anymore. Under config consol there's a new Version Analysis, but that appears to do comparison by configuration type (List, form, page, etc). I thought there was a way to compare the base business class lpl by version. I'm trying to see if the October release changed the behavior of Recurring Distribution feature in payablesinvoicedistribution business class.

Could someone point me in the right direction.

Configuration Console > Version Analysis menu > Compare Other Versions tab.

Compare Other Version only seems to compare objects associated with the business class, such as lists, form, page, Menu, etc. What I'm interested in is comparing the base business class lpl where things like conditions and business rules are defined. As an example on the payablesinvoicedistribution business class an enhancement in the October CU allows for the use of Recurring Entry on invoice types other than expense. There are several conditions on the business class that control when the rucurring tab appears. That logic isn't in the form definition, it's in the condition on the business class. I'm interest in how the condition changed from 2023.09 to 2023.10. This is just one example, but often when the system doesn't perform how a user expects, I start by reviewing the lpl. After releases, I'll get a random this doesn't work the way it used to, but the user can't fully describe what it used to do to make the comparison.

This would be a good enhancement request, I don't think the base business class changes are in the UI delta document in the release notes.

There is a delta document in the release notes that shows (red/green) changes in business classes. As example, go to KB 1935818 and download the Release Docs zip file > open the TM Docs external folder > and look for TM table definitions delta file.

well at least this document USED TO show the exact changes. I've just gone back through docs for the past 6 months or so and am not seeing this level of detail any longer in the delta document.

is anyone else having trouble searching and working within the delta documents? more specifically -TMUIDelta_2024.04.00.pdf i'm trying to do some searching my computer locks up as it tries to load. also, most of the FSM pdf files are over 20mb in size and i've had trouble with those documents. what i'm wondering here is if the documents are too large for us to work with and maybe we need to request the docs to be broken up in smaller files to make it easier and possible to review for us.

Hi Noe.

I do see the same behavior in the TMUIDelta_2024.04.00.pdf file for HRTalent. That file is ~13.4MB.

In my case I have the issues mostly when attempting to 'page' through the file.

Using the 'Find' to search for specific word patterns or using the scroll bar along the side in the PDF document to move through the pages, does seem to respond better.

But you are probably correct that these files are getting too large to work with ideally.
