MEC Mapper loses MappingUtils in project build path

Hello Infor experts and gurus!

I hope this question belongs in this forum and that someone can answer it.

My MEC Mapper seems to "forget" the MappingUtils jar path shortly after I set it in a project's Configure Build Path:

When I do the above the annoying Java syntax errors in open functions disappear and all the references to MappingUtils objects and methods resolve correctly. Until I close and reopen a function -- then the syntax errors reappear and the jar is gone from the build path.

Am I doing something wrong or is my MEC Mapper somehow misconfigured?

Make sure to put the JAR in a 'normal' folder and link it (not under your User Id), it should hopefully resolve the problem.

Hi Rene,

Tried your suggestion but it didn't work. Also set added a reference to the Mapping Utils JAR for the entire MEC mapper (which presumably should make it available by default to all projects) but it had no effect either:

How is this reference set up in your mapper?

Strange, this should not be a problem.
Have you tried to launch your MEC-mapper as Administrator to ensure that you have enough authority to update the local settings etc.?

Deleting the MappingUtils project folder and creating a new mapping project will re-create the MappingUtils folder that contains the latest ec-mappingutil.jar and ec-mappingutil-javadoc.jar files (at the mapper build’s point-in-time) incorporated in the mapper plugins.

To explicitly add the ec-mappingutil jar files to the classpath of a mapping project folder should not be done, we do not support this! The MappingUtils folder is referenced by all mappings in the same mapper workspace. Manually adding ec-mappingutil might not sync with the latest possible ec-mappingutil jar files provided by MEC. The MappingUtils project is in the classpath as default. There should be no libraries in the classpath.

BTW Is this for the cloud or for on-prem?

This is for the cloud.

I wasn't able to find any documentation or instructions on how MappingUtils should be configured, so this was my best-guess approach. MappingUtils were missing after I installed the mapper and the Infor provided mapping plugin, so I had to download and reference them myself.

Following your advice I have removed MappingUtils references from both the User Libraries and Classpath Variables. I have a MappingUtils folder in the same workspace as the rest of my projects and it appears in the Package Explorer but not in Mapping Explorer:

MappingUtils references are still not being automatically resolved in the Java code. What else am I missing? How do I get my projects in this workspace to recognize and reference MappingUtils?

SOLVED!

I shut down Eclipse, removed the MappingUtils project from the workspace, re-launched Eclipse, and the MappingUtils project auto-magically reappeared in the workspace (added by the mapping plugin perhaps?). Then when I opened a map for the first time I got a message saying that MappingUtils was added to the project. Now references are properly resolving.
