Disable Widgets From Appearing in Smart Panel (GHR)

Hi -

We are preparing to roll-out OS and plan to introduce functionalities like widgets to our users slowly, we aren't using them currently.

Most of our users are coming to Infor to complete a transition program, complete a form, update an address, etc.

Does anyone know of a way to hide the insights/widget icon within the smart panel? Ideally disabling "Smart Help", too.

I have tried disabling our standard widgets, we have no published widgets or insights and our general settings in OS don't enable private insight groups or the insight group catalog.

I opened a ticket on this and there is not a way to hide / disable these in the smart panel currently. We used to hide this in Mingle so it is a regression…

Hi - yes this is something that product management is aware of. The ability to hide the smart panel is on the docket and the ability for admins to manage the smart help is also in the works.

Hi,
This is now available since 2024.04 in OS -> Portal -> Settings -> General Settings

There are options to turn of different parts of the Smart Panel, Insights, Smart Help etc. You can turn it off for everyone and then add exceptions for specific roles under the exceptions configuration. Note however that if the Smart Panel is completely turned off there might be components that is not accessible in any other way.

If there is no component available for the user the Smart Panel will be automatically hidden. I would recommend turning off the different components withing the Smart Panel and not the entire Smart Panel. That way users of the Inbox can still access the inbox in the Smart Panel. If you completely turn of the Smart Panel then please read the release notes if there are any new features coming that would require the Smart Panel to be enabled.
