Hello everyone,
Is it possible to set default values for server and cube selection?
Is it possible to preset the number format for values?
Is there a button for creating a copy of values?
Thank you very much in advance
Daniel
Hello @d-bujok ,1. Not yet. However, I am interested in your specific use cases - how would you expect that to be working? Can you describe your scenarios?
2. Not yet, but hopefully coming soon.
3. You mean O+ convert to value report? No... but you can always use copy/paste as values functionality of Excel. Or is that something else?
HTH,
Vit
Hi Vit,
does 2 mean there is no support for format dimensions in Excel?
Cheers
Barney
Hello Barney,
not sure what you mean by 'format dimensions', do you mean number formatting via FORMAT_STRING? If that's what you mean then currently the answer is 'No'.
You can use conditional formatting or styles as temporary solution.

Hello Vit,
sorry, I didn't provide enough details.
1.) I mean, if you want to create an ad-hoc report, you are first asked for the data connection and the cube. There should be a default of the most frequently used data connection and cube.
2.) Would be great
3.) In Office Plus you could press a button "Fx" which offered different possibilities to convert the file, among other things also as a value copy. The ad-hoc report remained unchanged and a new file with the desired conversion was created.
Hi Vit
Yes, if you look at the Cube administration, you'll see there are three "special" dimensions you can set per cube: a measure dimension, a format dimension and a cache partition dimension. The OLAP Server improves on MDX by allowing the format to be attached to any dimension, not just the measure dimension. As you say, the the format is stored in the attribute FORMAT_STRING
Hello @d-bujok ,
first of all thanks for the time to answer.
ad1 - it is clear to me what you want but I'd like understand how do you imagine it should work? Should there be some setting where you can define it, should it be automatically filled with combination you use most, or?
ad3 - yes, that's the convert functionality. We may introduce this as enhancement of the Ad-hoc conversion - but for now it should be just ok to use native excel functionality, isn't it? Because there you can simply select area you want to 'transform' and use copy and paste... you can paste just values, values with the source format or values with the target cell format.... which is kind of powerful.
V.
yes, both Points are nice to have.Regarding point 1: This should contain the default values specified by the admin, which can be customised by the user according to their own requirements before open the Ad Hoc, but yes, there should be automatically filling according to the admin's specifications.Kind regards,
J
