Looking for feedback on using ION with Visual

HI, 

I'm looking for feedback from anyone who is currently using ION with Visual (and/or has tried using it in the past).

Things I would like answered if possible...

• What are you using ION for with regards to Visual?
• Are you using ION as an on premise solution or the Cloud solution?
• If the cloud solution is Visual on premise?
• Did you do the implementation yourself or used outside assistance?
• If you used outside assistance who was it?
• How would you rate the difficulty of implementation? 
• How would you rate the on going reliability of ION with visual? with 3rd party apps?
• What issues (if any) do you have with ION?
• What do you like about ION?

We are utilizing ION to syncronize Visual with Infor CRM.  All three of these applications are currently on-premise for our organization.

We had our CRM consultant help us setup ION and the initial setup I found to be relatively complicated and picky (we've had issues with the self generated certificates being accepted).  Once setup, ION is pretty reliable - we don't do much to maintain it.  We haven't used ION with any other applications so I can't comment on that.  

Mostly the issues we've had relate not really to ION but with the setup of the BOD's and some of the data translation that either happens in ION or in Infor CRM (contacts being synced to non-synced account records, record statuses changing between systems, etc).

If I was considering utilizing ION moving forward, I'd probably look at implementing the cloud version since ION is kind of a beast - we have a Windows Server VM just for ION.
