When creating an inter entity journal the application only checks if the post date is in a valid open period for the header company. We had an inter entity journal we were posting to two different companies with a post date of 12/31/2023. The header company was 100 and period 12 in 2023 was still open for posting. However, at the line level we also had transactions going to company 300. We wanted those to post to period 12 as well, but that period was no longer open for that company. The system did not alert us to this though and instead posted the 100 transactions to period 12 and the 300 transactions to period 1 of 2024.
Ideally, the application would warn us if the period for the posting date is closed for all companies on a journal prior to releasing and not just one of them OR a warning message would appear when an inter entity journal was going to post to different periods/years.
Infor replied that it is currently working as designed.
