System Dimension Improvements (ER's 106654 and 101572)

Good morning all,

Hoping to get some support for improvements in the Finance Enterprise Group, mainly around system dimensions, notably for Accounting Unit/Cost Center as well as Project. 

We are hoping that Infor will improve accounting unit/cost center to have one system # for balance sheet and another for income statement, allowing companies to more efficiently use the system entries without having to reclass, also requires structure relations to be turned off and is leading to pain points for the finance team. 

In addition we recently noticed at year-end that a system project is mandatory if you used projects at all in a company and want to close year-end. This required us to set-up a dummy system project that is only holding bad information, and has opportunity to lead to errors.

Hi Sam, we would need to see an Enhancement Request entered with the details of what the desired outcomes are. As for the issue with Retained Earnings for Projects, there was an enhancement released whereby, you can choose dimensions to ignore when posting to the Undistributed Retained Earnings Account, thus negating any possible Retained Earnings records when the year is closed. Note on the FEG main tab, there is a flag titled, "Exclude Project and Dimensions for URE Posting" down in the General section of the screen.
