Suppress blank / empty output for List / User Folder CSV Exports?

Has anyone had success suppressing blank or empty output of scheduled CSV exports from Landmark lists or Reports (User Folders)?

The report distribution profile "Suppress Distribution of Blank Report" option only applies to Static Java Reports, so it seems like the only option to prevent the creation of superfluous empty Print File (User Report) records for scheduled list / report exports is to use an IPA flow instead of the native export scheduling in the UI.

However, even using an IPA flow has it drawbacks because the Report Document UID isn't returned by the Landmark Transaction that invokes the "ExportToCSV" action, so the Report Document has to be looked up by User Folder and Create Stamp after it's created in order to build the relative User Report records.

What would you want in this case exactly? A simple notification only that says something to the effect of "report ran, no data found, FYI."

Essentially no action if the record count on the Landmark list is zero, e.g. no User Report / Notification if there is no output, instead of an empty User Report record. In this scenario it's a daily Landmark list export, and they only need to view it if there is output.

I was just curious if the user would wonder if something just didn't work vs. there was just no data found.

Thanks, I think both options are probably valid. I can def see the same scenario where you want the empty output notification.

On a slightly related note, do you know if there's any way to grab the Async ID for a Report Document from the associated Action invocation or List Export that created it?

I'm looking for a way to grab the distinct Report Document created by an action / list export without having to query for the Report Document by create stamp and name or user folder.

My organization was looking for a way to do this as well (so that nothing is sent unless data is produced). If you find a way, please let me know! Otherwise, Enhancement Request, here I come!

It's not possible today so ER it up and make sure it's on the Landmark product side of the ER house.

Perhaps we end up adding a new "No Data Found Strategy" drop-down for the export dialogue, with options of "Suppress All, Notification Only, Send blank report". I guess since it's the default today we stay with "Send blank report" as initial valued/defaulted. Just initial food for thought ideas.
