&SYS Settings in Time Zone...want to confirm...

Good Morning,

The other day I submitted a questions about UTC Time in

And thanks to the community for weighing in!!!

Di Glover mentioned that &SYS should always be 0 hours from UTC.

And that is where I think lies the problem...

Ours is set to -6 UTC.

But it looks like it was set that way by the Infor Consultants when we did the initial implementation.

So I wanted to double check and see what everybody else has for their "Hours from UTC" setting for &SYS in DRS045 (Time Zone).

Do you have 0?

Or do you have and offset to where your company time is?

I want to make the change because I think it will solve a huge problem for us!

Our &SYS has been set to 0 offset since go live in MT Cloud. It looks like the base install had it set to -6 but it was changed to 0 (there are a few records for years before our implementation that show -6).

You need to check the server time zone that your M3 installation is running on and then set &SYS to be the number of hours from UTC that the server time zone is in.

Our server is on Pacific Time so our adjustment from UTC is -8

Please note that the above answer only applies to on-prem and Single tenant. In cloud the &SYS is always = UTC

So I am Single Tenant...so I SHOULD NOT change my &SYS. My &SYS should remain UTC-6?

Stephen - you need to verify the server time. Maybe log on to the M3 Management Pages and you should see Server Time and Time Zone at the bottom. Once you have verified that then make the necessary adjustment from UTC:

EST - 5
CST - 6
MST - 7
PST -8

In DRS045 - make sure all time zones have the correct UTC adjustment and if you want to be exact, create a record per year and set the Day Light Savings time.
