Currently when copying purchase order lines, the line distribution does not copy to the new line. This request is to have the line distributions copied as well. Please Endorse. Thank You!
When performing Create From Purchase Order you can select to copy Distributions for lines. I haven't done this in a long time, so I'm not sure what the result is. Is this what you are requesting?
Thank you for the suggestions, but to clarify, the ask is to copy line distributions when you copy a row on an existing purchase order.
Are you referring to the Copy Row action?
It allows you to copy the row and change a couple of fields (F2 functionality from S3). This is all on the UI (no business logic) - allows you to copy rows if most of the information is the same. This cannot copy distributions (which requires business logic).
We are referring to the Copy Row action. The ask is that they add the business logic to allow copy the distributions as well.
I would like to see this approved. If we create a manual po we can use line defaults to make sure each line, we create/copy has the same distribution. When the po is created from the RSS requisition, it does not populate the line defaults at the PO header so if we need to copy a line, we must enter the distribution on the new line. We do not merge multiple distributions on 1 purchase order, but I wonder if other organizations do? If the logic can be to copy that particular line distribution, this would be very helpful and a time saver.
Good idea - endorsed.
A colleague was just asking about this feature, as she was also disappointed that the default behavior did not include the account distributions -- or give some sort of option like when copying from a PO.
The ER appears to be in progress now (yay!), so although I cannot endorse it there, I will certainly endorse it here. Currently looks to be slated for the 2025.04 release.
