Must close work order before next scheduled service will generate a work request

I am having to close a given work order before the next scheduled service will generate a work request. I don't want this restriction. Is there a setting somewhere that controls this? In MOS300 I have the Scheduled Serv field set to 1-Yes instead of 2. (2 would only show the first scheduled service according to the help.) I have plan horizons set to 7 days in MOS300.

What am I missing?

I also have the Adjust Code in MOS300 set to 0 - keep original schedule

I do not have a solution, I have a question:

Why should you open a new scheduled service if the first one was not performed?

Years ago I replaced a system with this option they had many many open work orders never performed.

That's a good point. The situation I'm trying to account for is that the work was performed, labor booked, parts issued....our maintenance mgr will be expected to review the work order and then close it when satisfied. I don't want the next work order to not generate just b/c the maintenance mgr hasn't closed it yet. We certainly do not want unclosed work order to continue to build up over time.

I believe it is an issue only with short term services, day, week

I would set the work order to clos automatic after reporting last operation.

And sending automatic system message to the manager to follow up,

or create a report for him.
