Manual Allocation of Customer Orders

We allow manual allocation of customer orders but would like to restrict by order type what location an order can be allocated to.

We have 1st and 2nd quality conditions for the same product (not using attributes for this). Our 1st quality is stored in different locations from our 2nd quality. When raising a customer order we want to ensure that only the correct quality can be allocated based on the order type. This is to prevent a user from mistakenly allocating second quality to the order and vice versa?

Any ideas if this is possible with M3 set up. I looked at MMS123 and MMS124 but this seems to be supporting automatic allocation rules.

Hello Simon,

Item allocation can also be controlled from Create Location Type Table (MMS057). But it cannot restrict allocation based on order type.

Hi Simon - just brainstorming...

On your order type you can set "Priority" (connected to customer) to be a specific value instead of retrieving it (*CUS) - in this case a higher one than your standard customers.
Field OAPRIO/OBPRIO is available for you to use in MMS123/MMS124. Would that help you?

I think the requirement is to restrict records displayed in MMS121 when manually allocating an order line. It seems they do not use automatic allocation.

Location at line level is available in OIS014 but you can enter only one value in it.

Maybe a script in MMS121 that controls the stock zone based on order type when pressing enter ?

We do use automatic allocation but we also allow manual allocation so users can deallocate orders. I think you are right about a script being the only way to solve this.

OK. So for automatic allocation, you can use MM123/MMS124 based on OAORTP criteria.

If users need to deallocate/allocate again, a script could do the trick because i don't see OBPRIO in the matrix as Catharine suggested.
