Add Input Item in Gupta 7.0

Hello,

I am wanting to add another variable to a standard .qrp form. How do I cross reference the new variable to the information in Visual? I'm looking to modify one of the standard forms, vtordfrm.qrp to add some other data. In particular, in Customer Order Entry with a delivery schedule I want to add the Release number to our order acknowledgement. When I follow the same name formatting as the other Input Items, no data pulls in with it. I'm assuming somewhere there is input name and where it ties to in Visual.

Unless I’m missing something, you need to add an extended report query under Application Global Maintenance -> Report Format File Overrides – Add Extended Query. The query needs to link your new input field to an existing ID field in the report – like this example that pulls in “TotalTax” from a custom SQL view and links it to the existing CO_ID field.

You’ll need to copy the standard report file and rename it before you do this, and then put your new file path into the “Overriding QRP Filename” field.

SELECT SRI.TotalTax FROM SRI_TaxOrderTotals SRI WHERE SRI.CustOrderId = :CO_ID

Thanks. I did find an extended query for the form I am working on. I was also able to add the new variable I wanted. The only issue I came across was that it does not populate the information for each line. What I am trying to do with our Order Acknowledgements is to list the customer's release number with the delivery schedule. Attached is the delivery schedule with the release numbers, but also attached is the print out that only does the first line. Know of any way to have it populate for each line in the delivery schedule?

The main issue is probably b/c there's a 1 to many relationship between CO line and Delivery line, so you'll probably have to set up a view in your SQL Database first and use that in your extended query. Synergy set up one of these for us originally not just for matching up lines but also for other stuff like balance due / ship to etc.

The view we use is the following, which you can paste right into SSMS if you're using that to manage your db:

SELECT CUST_ORDER_ID, LINE_NO, dbo.SRICoDelSchedQTY(CUST_ORDER_ID, LINE_NO) AS DSBalDue, dbo.SRICoDelSchedDESSHP(CUST_ORDER_ID, LINE_NO) AS DSDesShp, dbo.SRICoDelSchedRLS(CUST_ORDER_ID, LINE_NO)
AS DSRelease, dbo.SRICoDelSchedSHPTO(CUST_ORDER_ID, LINE_NO) AS DSShipTo
FROM dbo.CUST_ORDER_LINE AS col

Our extended query for the order form is more complex than just the following, but something like this is what you'd need to add to line up your delivery line #'s:

SELECT S.DSBALDUE , S.DSDESSHP , S.DSRELEASE , S.DSSHIPTO , S.CUST_ORDER_ID , S.LINE_NO FROM CUSTOMER_ORDER CO , SRI_COL_DEL_SCHED S WHERE S.CUST_ORDER_ID = :CO_ID AND S.LINE_NO = :LN_LINE_NO AND CO.ID = S.CUST_ORDER_ID

You can do more of the query work on the SSMS / view side or the report side, but tbh doing it as a view is way easier.
