Effective Date Updates

We are very new to Infor CloudSuite and we are struggling with effective date actions. We enter our new hires with a future effective date for their start date and occasionally that start date will change. When we try to update the start date and effective date to the new start date (to an early date or a later date) we hit issues with updating the effective dates. We currently have 30 or so that we cannot update.

Does anyone have suggested documentation that we can reference about effective date updates or any suggestions?

We setup a Pre Hire status code to handle this. When we hire someone in the future, we make it effective immediately with a status of Pre Hire rather than Active. We set their hire date to be the actual start date. Then we have an IPA that runs daily to find people in pre hire status that have a hire date that day and makes them active and also does the new hire benefit enrollment action.

We have found that the best way to update effective dates is through the Audit Log. If you click on the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner of the screen on the action that you wish to update and select drill around, audit log, change effective date, you should be able to change the effective date on just about any action you choose. It has been super helpful for us when a leader accidentally enters a separation date before the person actually left.

Hi,

We enter our new hires and rehires with similar setup that Robert mentioned. The effective date is the date we enter them in the system with the pre hire status. We have a process running that sets them to an active status 7 days before their adjusted start date so that we can get their email and access ready to go before day 1. We also have a delivered job scheduled to create their new hire benefit life event on their adjusted start date.

We also use the drill around on the audit log to correct effective dates on other actions like transfers. We've documented scenarios where the drill around can be used, as there are limitations. We've found that you can change the following scenarios:

1. You can change a future effective date to another date in the future.

2. You can change a current or past date to a different date in the past.

3. The only way I've found to change a future date to a date in the past is to first change the effective date to current date. Then submit another change to change the date to an effective date in the past.

I have not been able to find a way to change a past date to a date in the future.
