MTD unable to log into HMRC website

User is trying to view his Vat records in MTD vat centre

After opening MTD  gets message that he needs to authorise his login

Using On screen prompt tries to login into HMRC gets stuck in a loop and is not able to open the sign in page for HMRC

User then tested the login to HMRC outside of Pegasus and was able to log in

Any ideas on how to resolve  so he can use the MTD centre

I had this the other day, this is what Pegasus sent me and it worked !

How to re-authorise the MTD VAT Centre using Edge as follows:

1. Open the MTD VAT Centre in Opera and click “Yes” to authorise.
2. When the web page loads up do NOT click continue but right-click on the web page and select 'Properties'.
3. Copy the 'Address (URL)'. E.g. https://www.tax.service.gov.uk/oauth/start?auth_id=62f4f20d61bfee622ff6b926&state=20091ADMIN

4. In Edge:
Click the ellipsis at the top right
Settings
Default Browser
Change Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode (IE mode) to Allow

5. 
   In Internet Explorer mode pages click Add
   Paste in the URL from stage 3.
   Restart Edge
   6. Paste the URL into the address bar, enter gateway details and sign in.
   
   7. A popup will appear advising about internet redirection. Tick the box 'In the future, do not show this warning' and then click on Yes. It should sign in and the web page appears to enter the access code.
   
   8. Close down Edge
   
   9. Go back to Opera, open the MTD VAT Centre (close and reopen if still open from step 1).
   
   10. Click yes to authorise and follow the process through and it should now work.

 

NB: The customer may need to add more sites to the IE mode pages, depending on the redirection from HMRC.
