Master Data-How do you maintain Address Formats for all Countries?

 We went live with Master data- address formats for about 10-15 countries. We have recently learned that when you don't specify address format under Formatted Address or Address Lines, it does not update the sequence of the lines and address line for country defaults to United States, even if on the General tab the country is set to Taiwan.

Taiwan is not one of the countries that we have an address format for, so address line shows United States instead unless we manually change it.

I asked Infor and they are unable to provide a list of countries with their address formats. Not sure how and if Infor sets this up for their new clients.

Wondering if anyone here has figured out how to maintain master data- address formats for all countries if not most? If you keep Address Format filed blank on the address record, do you use Update Address Formats (tccom4235m000)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I agree with you, as there was/is not very much clarification provided to us either on the address formats, and we're over two years since go-live with CS A&D in IGS (GovCloud).  I wish I had a better answer for you on this, be we only have AUS, DEU, FRA, NLD, and USA in our Address Format list (tccom4535m000) and I believe that is what the original implementation team added. I thought the plan was to only add formats for the countries we have BPs in, but that was obviously not the case.  Most addresses throughout the world should fall under the same as those 5 countries, so I would say to identify those countries where address formatting is a problem for your company and plan for a workaround or format dev/testing to fix. I'm happy to share the format details for each, if this would help.

For Taiwan, Googling "Taiwan Address Format" should get you to some definitions.  Wikipedia as first result, defined the address format as using the "East Asian addressing system" and has some good info (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postal_addresses_in_Taiwan). This is the path that I took to try and figure out proper info for different countries.  Below are a few more links I found that should provide you with some answers, though not Infor specific.  NOTE: We don't have an Address Format  or Address Lines Format set for TWN/Taiwan, only Zip/Postal Code mask and area code phone data, otherwise mostly blank.

Matter of fact, I'm trying to find a way to push our Site Phone and Fax Numbers through the Address Formats, if possible, since no at Infor one felt it was important to add those details and fields on any reports by default, and I'm trying to AVOID extending where possible, so we're not in the endless battle with new versions coming out and breaking our extensions.  I'm a VERY detail-oriented, ADHD type of person, so things like this drive me bananas!

A word of advise, bug the heck out of support to help you with Address Formats, and don't take "No" for an answer.  We all pay them too much for lack of answers and help!  It's their system, they should be the experts and should know it front to back. Just keep pushing and escalating until you get helpful answers.  Hopefully, you have a good CSM.  Ours helps to get the resources on our calls and make folks accountable.
