Activating table index in PROD

Hi ,

We have an issue with one of the table that throws an error in PRD as it is not indexed. The table looks to be in NOT ACTIVATED state in M3 Function Search. We would need that to be activated for one of the new custom API to work.

Can that be done in PRD directly? Or Is there any prerequisite to activate that? Unsure why it is deactivated in PROD and active in TRN.

Also is it possible to check the log of that table? Can anyone advise please?

Hello Shyamily,

You can directly activate a table in M3 Function Search Administration.

Also you can check the date of activation in "Index load start time". You can see I have just activated the ACLHED table now and it is showing the today date in the Field (yellow highlighted).

In my case it looks like the table was not activated any time before.

Could you please advise on what instance we normally deactivate the Indexes? Will it cause any issue if we have more no; of indexes activated in PROD?

I got to know this just recently from one of member from this community that you should never need to re-index search data in PRD. The only case this could happen is if your data has been updated via a direct SQL by Cloud ops or after a data migration. M3 search is kept in sync via the event through event hub. For TST and DEV tenants the story is different since they need a re-index after the data has been refreshed.

We should activate no. of indexes wherever it's required.
