Contents of LsAlchemy folder missing when installing XRL

Hello Everyone!

I'm hoping that someone may have seen this one before.

One of our customers have recently gone through IT domain changes and all users have had new PC's.
When reinstalling XRL the folders within the LsAlchemy folder are missing with the only folder being Vision. This means that the connection cannot be made within the client setup as the options for Opera3 etc do not exist.

We have been troubleshooting and have tried things like turning off AV, reinstalling as a domain admin etc but nothing seems to be making a difference.

To work around the issue we have copied the folders from an off site install and pasted them into that location and it seems to get XRL working.

Has anyone else seen this issue before and can point me in the right direction?

Hi Jodie,
I've never come across that before.

What version of XRL are you installing and what is the operating system of the PC's?

Also, have you tried making the user profile of the PC's "Local Administrators" just temporarily while you do the install?

I haven't seen anything like this, but have seen where we had to re-install to a new folder rather than the default.

Also, seen where there have been issues on a system after moving servers whereby we needed to uninstall XRL, clean out folder AND uninstall VSTO 2005 Tools... it was the last part that allow the re-install to be done successfully.

Hi Claire,

All computers are Windows 11 and we have tried v1.77 and v1.76 as I thought maybe it was a dodgy disk image to start with.

All users were made local administrators prior to the install and we since tried with a domain administrator too with the same result.

Hi Tony,

Did you have to install VSTO separately and then run the install? I thought this was installed as part of the installer so this would definitely be worth us giving it a go... fingers crossed!
