Creating import files for QuickBooks?

Had this question from a customer, I've never dealt with quickbooks before but maybe someone out there has. They asked about producing a file that could be imported as a Quickbooks Purchase Order for their customer based on the FACTS Sales Order created. I did some brief research and saw that you can do file imports in Quickbooks, text, csv files or their own .iif files, but I've never worked in Quickbooks. Was wondering if anyone out there had any experience, advice in this area before I dig into this any further?
