I am currently trying to set up payroll nominal codes and masking for one of my customers and I have a couple of queries if anyone can help.
1. It appears the salary that is being pulled through to on the nominal analysis is the full salary pre salary sacrifice figure and not the post salary sacrifice figure. As this is pulling the pre salary sacrifice pay shouldn't there be an additional line on the nominal analysis to reduce the pre salary sacrifice pay to the same nominal code that is on the salary payment profile? As it doesn't do that isn't the salary nominal code overstated? I might be overthinking this but i was assuming the salary would be the total payments figure (gross salary - salary sacrifice) with the salary sacrifice pay going to the pension control.
2. This customer also has 2 pensions set up Nest & Standard Life and therefore their preference is to keep two pension control accounts. The nominal codes in payroll, utilities only allows us to enter one pension control account. Is there any work around for this or will they have to do a manual journal to move from one pension control account to the other?
