How can I generate the corresponding bookmark from MTS043?

Hi,

I used MTS043 as recommended to develop a bookmark that matches what I want.

In particular, this bookmark thus configured retains only 2 panels in the Panel Sequence chanp.

I've tried several techniques, including one that extracts from the browser address the part of the URL starting from ?favoritecontexte

But, with all the techniques, when I use the bookmark generated in this way, it opens the transaction for me, but I end up with all the panels, whereas in MTS043 I had only configured 2?

Hi Denis

1. After filling out MTS043 hit next and it will jump to the desired M3 destination.

2. In the newly opened M3 window right click somewhere on the panel and go to bookmarks > copy to clipboard.

3. Copy the bookmark url into another program like Word because you need to modify the link to get it to work. Modify it like this:

4. Now you can use this link in your shortcuts.

You can give this new window a custom title like so:

And of course you can manipulate the panel sequence:

By the way: We use mforms automation for these kind of tasks.

It was useful, unless I'm mistaken, in indirectly confirming the subject of my question (as I had tried this technique too).

What I find a pity is that there's a gap between the way you've set up MTS043 to work in a way you think is right for your context and the bookmark you manage to generate, which doesn't include everything you've set up.
In my opinion, this makes MTS043 less useful.

In the example, you have to manually reintroduce the sequence into the generated bookmark, as you've indicated, and that's not the only thing you need to do to reproduce MTS043 in the bookmark.

I don't know if there's a better way of doing this? That was the idea behind my question.
But your answer seems to indicate that there isn't.

Failing that, is there any documentation referencing all the options that can be developed in MTS043 and how they translate into bookmark syntax?

There's also the possibility of using the mforms automation tool you mention. that's another approach.
But once again, it's hard to make the link with the use of MTS043.

Hi Denis

We use MTS043 only for manipulating program titles for custom list shortcuts. Infor proposed me to create a bookmark with MTS043 and manipulate the title in the generated link - so I think the manipulation of MTS043 generated links is common - and yes, makes MTS043 less useful.

Unfortunately I don't have a syntax list, maybe somebody else knows more about this.

I think you can also create an Infor incident for the panel issue described in your question.
