I'm trying to run a simple MRP process. There are no forecasts and I want to maintain safety stocks at all times. I do have the advanced planning module, so I can set MPS if that is the best way of doing it.
Ideally I want planned orders to be created for the dates they are required - ie where stock drops below safety or zero if there is no safety. I don't want all the planned orders to be for a specific date in the month (which is the only option I can find).
I have parts on several levels: finished stock (which we sell), sub-assemblies, components and material. This causes me problems because, if I alter planned order dates before accepting them or delete them, I then need to run the whole process again (including scheduling) to get sensible planned orders for the next level down. This leads to running MRP and scheduling at least 4 times.
Does anyone have a workable routine?
