Customer Community - would really appreciate endorsements on ER 111963. We use a transition management program for employee onboarding. When employees with a transition program terminates and then later rehired, their prior transition program is updated with new due date and status is past due. This is especially troublesome when the person is rehired as a non-employee like Contractor or Student that is not required to complete a transition program. We started with an incident and were told the system is working as designed, so we moved to an enhancement request.
Summary: Resource Transition records are being updated and causing confusion for resources that are excluded from the transition program. When a previous employee has a transition record that is not complete, leaves employment and then returns, the previous transition record is updated with a new due date and status is past due. In addition, this occurs for people that are part of a restricted eligibility group for the transition program.
Proposed Solution: Close transition programs when employees are terminated in a way that keeps a record of previous activity on the transition program. Or do not update an existing transition program upon a rehire action.
Business Impact: We submitted Case CS0220195 and was told the system works as intended, with a recommendation to submit an enhancement request. People that are rehired as contractors or students receive emails to complete a previous onboarding transition program which causes confusion.
Workaround: HR Back-office teams manually complete transition programs for employees that no longer need to complete tasks. This is a manual and time-consuming effort.
