Does the capability to perform Misc. Receipts Exist in FSM for the PO Receiving process? We know it exists in MSCM, but can you do it in FSM?
The search capability inside MSCM for miscellaneous receipts is very limited.
Thanks.
Jeff
Hi Jeff
As far as I know we do not have a misc. receiving process within FSM. When MSCM moves onto the Landmark platform we will have this capability to create misc. receiving receipts. Little confused when you say misc. receipts for PO Receiving. Are you wanting to create just a regular misc. receipt or something more? Can you expand more as to what makes misc. receipts very limited when searching as this will help me make it better for our customers?
Hi Mario,
Here is what the end user is reporting as why it is very limited.
Use case – Gillette receiving staff use the Miscellaneous Receiving option through MSCM when they receive a package not tied to a formal purchase order. For example, if a client sends in samples, a spouse sends in flowers, or a patient sends back a loaned device. None of those examples would have a purchase order, but supply chain would like record of what they are and when they entered the facility. When receiving utilizes Misc. Receiving we change the code to “Note” and enter all details about the package, such as what it was, how many we received, and who we sent it to within our facility.
Issues/recommendation
When miscellaneous receiving through MSCM a tracking number is required. We do receive items from 3PL couriers and the USPS that do not have a tracking number.
When trying to look back and review miscellaneous receipts the user has to navigate in computer based MSCM to the “modify receipt” tab which is not intuitive. It would seem as though there should be another option to view and search misc. receipts.
When reviewing historical receipts, there is no ability to view the notes that were entered. I’m only able to see the tracking number, user, and date which leads to a lot of jumping in and out of records to determine which is the correct one.
To view the additional details of a historical receipt the user has to select “modify receipt” which also is not intuitive as we aren’t looking to modify anything, we simply want to review the notes attached.
When backing out of a receipt the user selects “return to list” and the list always defaults back to the beginning.
